Lotsa Lox: Acme Joins New York City’s
Finest Chefs to Celebrate
“The Great Bagel and Lox” Book

NEW YORK, NY (April 21, 2004) More than 50 of New York’s most talented and respected chefs including Christian Albin of the Four Seasons and Pierre Schaedlin of Le Cirque lined Vanderbilt Hall in New York’s acclaimed Grand Central Terminal, to celebrate the release of “The Great Bagel and Lox Book.” Created by Celebrated New York photographer, Alan Batt, a.k.a. Battman, the book is a tribute to the timeless food duo through creative and distinctive photographs taken of interpretations of bagels and lox by New York’s finest culinary artists.

The chefs came together at Grand Central for a public book signing to help raise money for The Children’s Storefront, a tuition free school in Harlem. The event was sponsored by Acme Smoked Fish, Russ & Daughters, Murray’s Bagels and Lucky’s Real Tomatoes.

“This is a true New York experience, just like bagels and lox,” said Emily Caslow, director of marketing for Acme. “As a fourth generation member of the family that has made smoking fish a tradition in New York for 50 years, I would like to thank the 80 chefs who contributed to this book celebrating another New York tradition. Your creative, innovative and delicious presentations, skillfully photographed by Battman, finally give bagels and lox the recognition they so truly deserve.”

“The Great Bagel and Lox Book” retails for $29.95 and is available at Barnes and Noble, Amazon.com, and specialty gift shops throughout New York City.
