ACME SMOKED FISH CORP. EXPANDS WILD SALMON PRODUCT LINE
Blue Hill Bay Smoked Wild Alaskan Coho Salmon & Smoked Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon Introduced at West Coast Seafood Show
LONG BEACH, CA, October 25, 2004 --- The Acme Smoked Fish Corp. is once again expanding it’s growing Blue Hill Bay line of all natural and preservative-free smoked wild salmon with the introduction of Blue Hill Bay Smoked Wild Coho Salmon and Blue Hill Bay Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon. Both products will debut at the West Coast Seafood Show October 31-November 2 at the Long Beach Convention Center, Booth # 509.
Acme Smoked Fish Corp., a fourth-generation, family-owned smokehouse in Brooklyn, NY, proudly marks its 50th anniversary this year, providing a wide range of superior smoked fish products sold under the Acme and Blue Hill Bay brand names.
“Wild Coho Salmon is prized for its delicate flavor and firm texture, qualities that make it an exceptional fish for smoking and a welcome addition to our Blue Hill Bay line,” said Eric Caslow, president of Acme Smoked Fish Corp.
From the pristine waters of Southeastern Alaska, Blue Hill Bay Smoked Wild Coho Salmon is cured in the traditional European method with a dry rub of salt and brown sugar. After curing, the Wild Coho is slowly cold smoked for several hours using a blend of native American hardwoods. The result is a true smoke flavor that enhances the natural flavor of the salmon.
Blue Hill Bay Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon comes from the cold, clear waters surrounding the unspoiled landscapes of the Alaska Peninsula and Aleutian Islands. Wild Sockeye Salmon is known for its deep red color, its distinctive flavor, firm texture and rich oil content that is high in heart-healthy Omega 3 fatty acids.
Acme begins with a traditional European cure, applying a dry rub of salt and brown sugar – no preservatives or additives. After curing, the Wild Sockeye is cold smoked for several hours with a blend of native American hardwoods. The finished product is a beautiful, naturally red, moist and succulent smoked fish.
In addition to Wild Coho and Sockeye, Acme also produces wild cold smoked king salmon
About Acme Smoked Fish Corp. – a Family Tradition
This year, Acme Smoked Fish Corp. marks five decades as a family owned and operated smokehouse. Acme has responded to market demands by modernizing its Brooklyn factory, dramatically increasing production capabilities and expanding its regional sales teams nationwide. In 2000, the company launched the Blue Hill Bay Smoked Seafood product line, comprised of all-natural and preservative-free smoked fish ranging from plain and flavored salmon to brook trout, tuna and more.
Acme Smoked Fish Corporation, located at 30 Gem Street in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn, is now one of the largest single-plant processors of smoked fish and herring in the United States, and it is still family-owned and operated.
